Improving the quality of life for the people of Vietnam is a critical element of our sister city program.
The Committee has been involved with the training of Vietnam’s air quality experts in ways to measure, monitor, and improve the country’s air quality. This particular program follows the World Bank’s initiative to phase out lead based gasoline throughout Vietnam. Accordingly, this program will result in the drafting of an “Air Quality Management Plan” for Ho Chi Minh City.
More recently the Committee was involved in a program that was organized by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This program which took place in San Francisco and Washington, DC, The program’s intent was aimed at demonstrating how the EPA works with myriad agencies in the enforcement of environmental laws,
The Committee looks forward to formulating and assisting in other environmental programs that involve water quality, solid waste management, hazardous waste management, as well as air quality, as opportunities arise.
